The funding from our contributors and sponsors allow us to expand awareness and appreciation for the art of Fashion Design as exhibited through talent right here in the Midwest.
This support encourages those who are pursuing the arts as a profession and provides valuable life skills such as confidence, team-work, self-expression and discipline.
During our satellite parties we also presented our rebranding from the Fashion Institute Midwest!
The new name ‘Fashion Arts Collective’ emphasizes what embodies our group. As Mentoring & Opportunities Chair, Sam Hohman, put it:
“The new name truly describes exactly who we are in our DNA. Fashion: the industry that is our core, Arts: because fashion is a true artform and Collective: as it takes each and every one of us to make this work to support area students and designers in the fashion design community.”

The Fashion Institute Guild (FIG) is a non-profit organization founded in 2013 to help advance the fashion ecosystem of the Midwest. As the supporting organization for Fashion Institute Midwest (FIM), FIG’s mission is to enrich local fashion talent through fundraising and volunteering. Apart from creating beautiful garments and accessories, our designers need support in many areas ranging from business development to marketing and beyond. The Fashion Impact Awards serve as a fundraiser to support these FIM designers who are making a lasting impact on fashion in the Midwest.
