FAC has partnered with Metro Community College’s continuing education program in providing classes on Fashion Illustration, Design presentation, Into to Apparel and more. In addition, our workroom manager, Denise Ervin creates additional class offerings and workshops to grow not only sewing and design skills but also business development.

Like so many other businesses and non-profits, FAC has been affected by Covid-19. Many of our classes had to be cancelled, funding has been reduced, but we’ve continued to keep the workroom open and mentor fashion designers. At the start of the pandemic, we launched a project to help the community of healthcare and front line workers. We grew our FAC family of ~150 volunteer seamstresses to help sew a goal of 500 face masks per day. Denise led the project from creation of pattern, assembling & distribution of kits and delivery of completed masks to over 50 local businesses and non-profits in the Omaha area.

We could use your support! Our annual gala is the guild’s main fundraiser to help provide much needed funds to keep the workroom open. Please consider supporting our mission by sponsoring and attending our virtual gala on Saturday, October 10. The event will feature a presentation of designers, an awards ceremony, silent and oral auctions, as well hors d’oeuvres and cocktails at each venue!
